TSSCVPR Board Descriptions (from the TSSCVPR Bylaws)

 

The President. The President shall exercise general supervision over the affairs of TSSCVPR and see that such affairs are conducted in accordance with these bylaws and pursuant to the directors of the board.  The president shall appoint all committee chairpersons, subject to the approval of the Board. The President is an ex-officio member of all committees.  The president shall preside at all meetings of the Board scheduling three (3) meetings at their discretion of location and the last being held prior to the symposium.  The president being a representative of TSSCVPR to the national organization of AACVPR will be a liaison for communication and implementation of both party’s goals to continue the mission of… “improving clinical practice, promote scientific inquiry and advance education for the benefit of health care professionals and the public.


The President-Elect. In the absence or disability of the President, the President-Elect shall perform the duties specified above. In addition, the President-Elect shall perform duties, which may, from time to time, be delegated by the President. The President-Elect reports to the President.

 

The Executive Vice President. The Executive Vice President shall perform all duties to the office of Executive Vice President and such other duties as may, from time to time, be assigned by the Board. In the event the President-Elect succeeds to the office of President, the Executive Vice President shall succeed to the office of President-Elect. The executive Vice President reports to the President, as shown in the organizational tree attached hereto at section 4.1.  The executive Vice President will oversee the Membership committee and the State Vice Presidents, being the source for information and guidance concerning TSSCVPR/AACVPR bylaws.

 

The Secretarv. The Secretary shall attend all meetings of the Board. The Secretary shall record all votes; keep minutes of Board and committee meetings; be responsible for the timely mailing of notice; maintain records and reports as required by law; be custodian of the corporate seal and see that it is affixed to all documents executed on behalf of Tri-State; and, in general, perform all duties incident to the office of Secretary, and all duties as may from time to time be assigned by the Board. The Secretary reports to the President, as shown in the organizational tree attached hereto at section 4.1.

 

The Treasurer. The Treasurer shall have or provide for the custody of Tri-Sta te' s funds or other property; shall collect and receive or provide for the collection and receipt of money earned by or in any manner clue to or received by Tri-State; shall deposit all funds in his or her custody as Treasurer in such banks or other places of deposit as the Board may from time to time designate; shall, whenever so required by the Board, render an account showing all transactions as Treasurer and the financial condition of Tri-State; and, in general, shall discharge such other duties as may from time to time be assigned by the Board or the President. The Treasurer reports to the President, as shown in the organizational tree attached hereto at section 4.1.

An Assistant Treasurer may, upon recommendation of the Finance Committee, be appointed by the President for a two (2) year term subject to approval by the Board. The Assistant Treasurer shall serve as a member of the Finance Committee.

 

The Vice President. The Vice President of DE, NJ and PA are elected by the board for a term of one (1) year being a representative for the TSSCVPR board to chapter managers.  The VP’s will oversee the chapter managers of their respective state by providing pertinent information on events, symposium planning, and board updates.  The VP’s will disseminate all rapid communications to their chapter managers received from the chair of communication committee.  The VP will be a resource for chapter managers in obtaining proper application for CEU’s for chapter meetings and giving guidance for funds and charges for those attending meetings.  The VP sits on the education committee.  They are encouraged to schedule proclamation signings for Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehab weeks for their prospective states.

 

Past President.   The immediate Past President is to Chair the Nominating Committee, and serve as a resource person to the president.  The Past President is a voting member of the board and attends all meetings and phone calls.  In addition, the Past President shall perm, duties which may from time to time, be delegated by the president and shall report to the President as shown in the organizational tree.

 

Chapter Managers.   Chapter Managers are elected by the board for a term of one (1) year.  Chapter Managers are encouraged to attend all board meetings and phone calls.  They are responsible for holding at least two chapter meetings for the members under their jurisdiction.  It is encouraged that these meetings be held after TSSCVPR symposium and AACVPR national meeting providing education on topics relevant to the care of cardiac and pulmonary rehab patients, TSSCVPR business and updates.  CEU’s are to be made available.  Chapter Managers are to collect the fee determined by the board for nonmembers attending a chapter meeting.  The Chapter Manager will disseminate all communication to their members of their authority received from the Vice President of their state.  The Chapter Managers will also be responsible for finding N in their designated territories.  The task is to be completed by 12/1 and information sent to their VP.
